We offer a variety of Clinical Education events designed for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills. Our founder and Occupational Therapist, Amy, is dedicated to sharing her extensive experience and knowledge and she leads our Clinical Education.
We offer Lunch + Learn Sessions, featuring live video presentations and Q&A with Amy. Additionally, we host Clinic Days at our showroom in Brisbane, for clinicians to get hands-on experiences with our products, and we provide personalised In-Service Training Sessions for workplaces.

Prescribing VELA with Confidence: Clinical Education for OTs & Physios

1 Hour | Online Video Conference
This free clinical education session with Amy Vincent from The Therapy Collective, Queensland's dedicated VELA specialist since 2018, is designed to give OTs and Physios the practical tools and clinical confidence to prescribe VELA Activity Chairs accurately and effectively, whatever the funding pathway.
Topics include:
- Identifying clients who may benefit from a VELA Activity Chair
- Understanding where VELA fits alongside other supports and navigating duplication of supports considerations
- What to assess and document during a VELA Design Consultation
- Prescription guidance, configuration considerations and accurate quoting
- Real-world case studies and prescription examples
- Funding application tips and common pitfalls to avoid
This session is ideal for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists working with clients funded through the NDIS, Home Care Packages, the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), the Employment Assistance Fund (JobAccess), or private means.

Clinical Education for OTs

This free clinical education session is for OTs working with clients with conditions such as MND, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's, stroke, or other conditions affecting upper limb function.
Topics include:
- What Obi is and who it's for: an introduction to the Obi Dining Robot, the conditions it supports, and the clinical profile of a suitable candidate
- Device features and switch access: see how Obi works and how to customise food delivery position for individual clients
- Food preparation and practical setup: what to consider when preparing food for Obi, and how to set up for a successful mealtime
- Assessing and documenting for funding: what to assess, how to demonstrate reasonable and necessary supports, link recommendations to functional outcomes, and address independent eating versus assisted eating
- Funding pathways: an overview of how Obi has been successfully funded, including through the NDIS, and common pitfalls to avoid
- Real-world case studies: how Obi has made a difference across different client presentations
- Our Obi Trial Experience: how to access an extended home trial for your client anywhere in Queensland, and the clinical resources we provide to support you
